Chestnut extract | Aesculus hippocastanum
The horse chestnut (Aesculus Hippocastanum) belongs to the family Hippocastanaceae. It originally comes from the Balkans, the Caucasus, and from Western Asia. The tree, which can grow up to 35 m tall, is now widespread in Europe.
Extracts from the seeds of horse chestnut are used in preparations here:
- Venous complains
- Swollen and tired legs
- Calf cramps, bruises, and sports injuries
The horse chestnut has a long tradition in folk medicine and is still used today in phytotherapy, particularly to support the circulatory system and for venous complaints. Originally native to Southern Europe and Asia, the plant spread worldwide, mainly due to its beauty and positive effects on the urban climate.
